History of the Fight Against Mold.

Until now, the most commonly used methods of mold or other microbial infestation clean-up have involved a lot of sanding or wire brush scrubbing, extremely labor-intensive endeavors that are bound to leave behind many areas of infestation that were either not apparent to the workers or were too deeply imbedded to be removed by sanding or scrubbing alone. And, of course, sanding or scrubbing every surface in a structure takes a huge amount of time and money. Another problem with sanding or scrubbing is that, should a worker actually sand or scrub a surface deeply enough to remove all molds or other dangerous microbes from tiny cracks and crevices, he will have had to take enough material off the surface to alter the dimension of that treated surface.

This creates a big problem when trying to rebuild or restore the surface after using such an archaic method. Changing dimensions by sanding requires subsequent use of non-conventional sizes of materials with consequent much higher costs of reconstruction. Even then, after rebuilding, mold recurrence is highly likely. Relatively few structures are remediated long term using such methods of attempted mitigation. This is what sets MRC apart from all our competitors. This is why so many owners have paid for mold removal, only to see the problem recur in a few months to a year.

Other methods have relied primarily on ultraviolet light. This, too, is partially successful, but it cannot kill mold or other microbes not directly exposed to such light. And this requires much more thorough exposure of contaminated areas, something very few so-called mold removal companies actually accomplish. Some methods involve painting or application of a sealant over surfaces that are contaminated with mold, but mold often prevents good bonding of paint or sealer and just re-grows on these surfaces. This is why companies using these methods rarely offer assurances of any lasting benefit. MRC is different.

At MRC, our Environmental Specialists not only kill and remove all mold, but we also clean the spores out of the air within the remediated space. As well, we make all treated surfaces “taste bad” to any future mold trying to take hold. Not only that, but we also trap and inactivate the dangerous mycotoxins produced by mold and carried on mold spores. NO other company anywhere can do that. MRC’s Patent Pending process does all this in an environmentally friendly way that is completely safe for humans and pets. Please see our PROCESS link for more details.

Other companies try to fix the problem by fogging the interior of the affected structures with agents that kill molds or other microbes. Usually, these are quite toxic to humans and pets. Others are very short-acting or do not penetrate affected surfaces deeply enough to kill all these organisms.

Lastly, some people use chlorine-based bleach in trying to mitigate the problem themselves. This method is completely ineffective in achieving anything but the briefest reduction in mold counts and is to be condemned for its markedly dangerous health risks, not to mention its utter lack of efficacy.
